Well someone said something and I chuckled to myself. We all know the expression Catch y’all on the flip side right? Well it dawned on me that there are boats called a ketch and a yawl and if you put them together you get ketch yawl as in Ketch Yawl On The Flip Side Sailing T Shirt. I don’t know about you but I find this quite funny. I’ll bet there are thousands of nerdy sailors out there that would also find this pretty amusing. People see the front and wonder what the hell and then you just turn around and indeed there is a ketch and a yawl on the flip side of the shirt.
I looked online and didn’t see this idea so hopefully it’s sort of original. It’s tough to do a design that hasn’t already been done in the past. So if you’re a sailor or have a friend that is you could be one of the few people to own this original shirt bus shirt.
For those unfamiliar with the ship types Ketch and Yawl, a ketch is a two masted vessel whose aft mast is forward of the rudder post while a Yawl is a two masted vessel whose aft mast is behind the rudder post. Both of these boat types are less popular than the sloop rig.
