Anyway these things got me thinking about this and that and the difference between new spinnakers and old spinnakers. In the old days a spinnaker was a big uniform sail not like the more modern spinnaker that looks like a mutant genoa. One was a symmetrical spinnaker and the other an asymmetrical spinnaker.
